Calgary

My sister and I packed up for a few days in Calgary. Its only about a 3 hour drive away from Edmonton, but it was nice to get away. We stayed with our family friends, Niraja and Murray and their two awesome kids. They have a great house and a huge backyard. Two deer decided to visit us one afternoon and hung out pretty much all day. It was really cool to see it in their backyard in the city!

I also met up with Yuriy for lunch at this place called the mango shiva. It was an Indian place but fusion and made for white people (i.e. the set up was actually very nice and there wasnt plastic tableclothes on the tables :)) But since he's an important investment banker now, we had to cut it short so he could get back to work.

I also visited Marc in Okotoks. I got a world wind tour of Okotoks (took about 20 minutes :)) and then we went to the rock. Okotoks means big rock in some aboriginal language. so we went out to see this big rock which was kind of impressive. apparently its from the Rocky Mountains and was left there when the glaciers melted away or something like that.

Also did some shopping in Calgary - there always seems to be awesome deals and sales when we go down to Calgary, even though there are the same stores in Edmonton! weird, i know..but still awesome
